Metallic steel panels wrap the crowning feature of Brisbane CBD's first new premium building for more than a decade. Architectural panels faced with COLORBOND® Metallic steel developed by BlueScope Steel create a curved silhouette against the skyline at the pinnacle of 175 Eagle Street in Brisbane's financial and commercial precinct.

The building designed by Brisbane architects Nettleton Tribe incorporates the latest technological advances including an intranet-based building management system to maximise energy efficiency, cost savings and employee productivity.

A key environmental feature of the A$100 million building is the ability it gives tenants to monitor and manage their energy consumption, ultimately reducing their overheads and greenhouse emissions.

Mr Glen Mallett, design architect of Nettleton Tribe, said the vision for 175 Eagle Street was to provide tenants with the most technologically advanced building in Brisbane that would rival buildings nationally.

"The building is designed to be a premium grade landmark development with clean, elegant aesthetics for a timeless look," said Mr Mallett.

"We were looking for a metallic architectural panel to clad the high parapets and plant rooms located on top of the building.

"We chose Bondor Equitilt" architectural walling panels featuring COLORBOND® Metallic steel in the colour Citi® because they provided greater spanning capabilities and cost efficiencies compared to other panels," Mr Mallett said.

Bondor Equitilt" architectural walling can be used horizontally or vertically, and is available in a range of thicknesses, colours, and profiles.

Equitilt" architectural walling is a cladding sandwich panel manufactured with COLORBOND® steel outer faces bonded to a thermal insulating core of fire retardant-treated expanded polystyrene.

"We specified the Bondor Equitilt architectural panels faced with COLORBOND® Metallic steel after initially considering other and more expensive systems," Mr Mallett said.

"COLORBOND® Metallic steel provides a good finish and matches the premium grade we were seeking," he said.
