LYSAGHT KLIP-LOK 700 HI-STRENGTH®

LYSAGHT KLIP-LOK 700 HI-STRENGTH®

Product Description and Features

LYSAGHT KLIP-LOK 700 HI-STRENGTH® is a new generation of wide-cover, concealed-fixed cladding. It is called HI-STRENGTH because it spans further than G300 steel, with better uplift performance than all available comparable products. It features a bold rib and flat pans which are cross micro-fluted. Our  mobile on-site roll former means extra long lengths can be made on-site, which eliminates expansion joints.

  • 700mm wide cover width
  • Concealed fixing for clean lines and watertightness
  • Suitable for installation over insulation up to 100mm thick
  • Clips are fixed with conventional hex head screws
  • Transverse fluting allows for longer spans
  • Now available with on-site mobile roll forming for even longer lengths, 0.60mm BMT and longitudinal fluting for spring curved roofs

Common Uses of this product

This product is best designed for commercial and industrial projects (such as factories, warehouses, shopping centres) where long uninterrupted flat roofs are required. Please contact your service centre for advice in wall and steep roof application.

Warnings

  • Minimum recommended roof pitch is 1 degree (0.48 and 0.60mm BMT) or 2 degrees (0.42mm BMT)
  • Ensure selection of suitable materials for environmental conditions for maximum durability
  • Lead and copper are not compatible with ZINCALUME® steel or COLORBOND® steel
  • Please Note: LYSAGHT KLIP-LOK 700 HI-STRENGTH® is only available upon enquiry in some states. Please consult the availability table below for further details.
  • Read full details on Guidelines for using COLORBOND® steel & ZINCALUME® steel.

Tolerances

Length: +0 mm, -15 mm
Width: +4 mm, -4 mm

Make allowance for thermal expansion or contraction for long length roofs at sheeting ends.

The equation ΔL = α x ΔT x L gives an indication of the sheeting extent or contraction (ΔL).

α = 12 x 10-6 (coefficient of linear expansion for steel).
ΔT = temperature change in °C.
L = sheet length in mm

Lengths
Mobile roll formed sheets are custom cut on-site. Factory sheets cut to order..

Material Specifications

LYSAGHT KLIP-LOK 700 HI-STRENGTH® is made from:

  • ZINCALUME® aluminium/zinc alloy-coated steel complying with AS1397-2001 G550, AZ150 (550 MPa minimum yield stress, 150 g/m2 minimum coating mass): or
  • Stainless steel standard grade designation is AISI/ASTM Type 430; UNS No. S43000 (on request only).

The base metal thickness is 0.42, 0.48 (and 0.60mm mobile roll former only).

The COLORBOND® prepainted steel complies with AS/NZS 2728: 1997.

Spanning Tables

The maximum recommended roof support spacings are based on testing in accordance with AS 1562.1-1992, AS 4040.0-1992 and AS 4040.1-1992.

Roof spans consider both resistance to wind pressure and light roof traffic (traffic arising from incidental maintenance).

Wall spans consider resistance to wind pressure only.

The pressure considered is based on buildings up to 10m high in Region B, Terrain Category 3, Ms=0.85, Mi=1.0, Mt=1.0 with the following assumptions made:

Roofs:
Cpi=+0.20, Cpe=-0.90, Kl=2.0 for single and end spans, Kl=1.5 for internal spans.

Walls:
Cpi=0.20, Cpe=-0.65, Kl=2.0 for single and end spans, Kl=1.5 for internal spans

These spacings may vary by the serviceability and strength limit states for particular projects.
