LYSAGHT QUIKA-FLOOR® Verandah System which uses LYSAGHT FIRMLOK® beams
Product Description and Features
BlueScope Lysaght has developed the LYSAGHT QUIKA-FLOOR® verandah system - a cost effective and fully engineered steel flooring system. The system uses LYSAGHT FIRMLOK™ beams for both in-plane and conventional non-cantilevered verandahs. LYSAGHT FIRMLOK™ beams are available in a wide range of COLORBOND® steel colours and sizes.

Warnings
- Do not allow this product, or its components, to make long-term contact with lead, copper, bare steel or green or chemically-treated timbers. Do not allow rainwater runoff from those products to flow over the verandah system or components
- Supporting timbers should be coated to avoid underside condensation
- If product is to be used in marine applications, or in severe corrosive industrial environments, please contact us.

Design Data
Live loads of 3 kPa have been used to calculate spans. Live point loads must be transferred to the LYSAGHT UNI-PIER® and not to the LYSAGHT QUIKA-FLOOR®.
- Dead loads for the design of floor members = 0.5 kPa.
- Dead load of sheet roof = 0.4 kPa
- Dead load of tile roof = 0.9 kPa
- Wind rating N3 (W41N permissible, W50N limit state)

Connection Details
Fixing your floorboards to LYSAGHT FIRMLOK™ can be readily achieved by either:
- screw fixing a 50 x 50 mm timber batten to the top of joists and then nailing floor boards to the batten, or
- screw fixing each board directly to the joist.
Terminology
Bearer: A section supported by walls, piers or stumps, which in turn supports floor joists, floors and walls.
Floor Joists: Sections spaced at a maximum of 450mm, that span over walls or bearers to which flooring is fixed.
Floor Load Width: The width of verandah floor supported by each bearer or support.
Joist Spacing: Centre-to-centre distance between floor joists.
Sheet Roof: Includes roof clad with continuous sheets of steel, aluminium, fibreglass, polycarbonate or metal tiles.
Tile Roof: Includes roof clad with concrete or terracotta tiles.
Roof Load Width: The width of verandah roof supported by each bearer or support.
