A uniquely designed Queensland display home built using steel framing is generating enormous demand for its builder to create other individually designed homes. Boss Homes recently completed the modern two storey Sailaway display home on the Pacific Pines estate at Gaven in South East Queensland.
The Sailaway is a two storey, four bedroom, artistically designed home of 284 square metres including decks (30.5 squares). The walls are painted in vibrant colours while the upstairs deck offers striking views and al fresco living.
The house features framing and roof trusses made from ZINCALUME® steel, and a fully insulated and rendered panel exterior wall.
Sailaway was designed to achieve the best possible position and orientation for a steep sloping block. It has a roof made from COLORBOND® steel with an extended skillion to enhance the architectural merit of the construction.
The Sailaway is the first home built by Boss Homes - a subsidiary of Boss Developments - using framing from Steel House Frames Australia.
Boss Homes Project Manager, Jon White, said Managing Director Ian Anderson planned to continue to use steel framing because of the durability, strength and serviceability of ZINCALUME® steel, and its engineered precision in design and assembly.
Ian Anderson, a building designer who has studied under Victorian architect Alistair Knox and award winning Canadian designer Steve Hogburn, is now a convert to steel house frames.
Jon White said Boss Homes used Steel House Frames Australia steel frames because of their resistance to termites, accuracy of design and ease and speed of construction.
Mr White said the time savings gained from the rapid construction using Steel House Frames Australia's unique riveted system offset any price discrepancies between steel and other framing materials.
