6. Special Australian Steel Gives Taiwanese Cranes
The Edge |
A
recent export success for Bisalloy Steels serves to
illustrate how the engineering benefits of quenched
and tempered (Q&T) steels can, in the right application,
be turned into tangible and substantial market benefits.
Taiwan's leading manufacturer of truck-mounted cranes,
GW Machinery, has dramatically increased its market
share since adopting Bisalloy's Bisplate steel for
its cranes. For more information on how GW Machinery
has increased it's market share, go to:

8. Did You Know... |
Five
completely trivial but fun facts to boggle your mind.
The theme for this edition of 'S.O.S' is birds. Did
you know:
- Birds
must fly at an average speed of 17.7 km/h to stay
aloft.
- After
bathing, starlings frequently dry themselves off
by using sheep as towels.
- An
albatross can sleep in midair while flying at a
speed of 56km/h.
- A
3 month old baby pelican weighs more than a full
grown adult pelican.
- The
petrel, a small sea bird, drinks only seawater.
If left inland beside fresh water, it will die of
thirst
