A recent export success for Bisalloy Steels serves to illustrate how the engineering benefits of quenched and tempered (Q&T) steels can, in the right application, be turned into tangible and substantial market benefits. 7. What Those Grades Really Mean

There's more to selecting a grade of steel than simply using the short form such as "250" or "Grade 250" - there are important detail differences between the different steels covered by these general headings. This article highlights some of the different characteristics inherent in specific types of steels, and also what some of the common terms used in the industry are. 9. Did You Know...

Five completely trivial but fun facts to boggle your mind. The theme for this edition of 'S.O.S' is birds. Did you know:

  • Birds must fly at an average speed of 17.7 km/h to stay aloft.
  • After bathing, starlings frequently dry themselves off by using sheep as towels.
  • An albatross can sleep in midair while flying at a speed of 56km/h.
  • A 3 month old baby pelican weighs more than a full grown adult pelican.
  • The petrel, a small sea bird, drinks only seawater. If left inland beside fresh water, it will die of thirst
