Wenco Pty Ltd of O'Connor in Western Australia, one of Australia's most widely experienced and best equipped heavy engineering companies, is in the final stages of a unique fabrication project to return steel to the blast furnace which produced it. • The English name "Easter" is derived from the ancient name for April, Eostremonat. This month has been said to be dedicated to the pagan fertility goddess Eostre. However in most non-English Christian societies the holiday's name is derived from Pesach, the Hebrew name of Passover.
• Decorated eggs have been exchanged by cultures across the world well before they were incorporated into the Easter tradition. Both eggs and rabbits are age-old fertility symbols.
• Chocolate Easter eggs were first made in Europe in the early 1800s. Colourful decorative foil wrappings were first used after World War II.
• There are about 200 million Easter eggs sold per annum in Australia, and last year each person in Australia ate an average of 10 eggs.
