1. Forest Hideaway Wins 2005 HIA Most Innovative Use
of Steel Award |
Nestled
in ten acres of beautiful Messmate forest at Daylesford,
Victoria, is the dramatic Wheatsheaf Residence
by Camson Homes, winner of the 2005 HIA Most Innovative
Use of Steel Award. The distinctive curved walls
of the home were made possible by using a steel
building frame that is wrapped in corrugated COLORBOND®

2. Adelaide RAAF Memorial Honours Those Who Served |
As
ANZAC day celebrations took place around the nation
this year, a new memorial was dedicated at Adelaide's
Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) Edinburgh Base,
in order to commemorate RAAF personnel who have
served on operations, particularly those who paid

3. XLERPLATE® Features In New TV Commercial |
On Sunday 5 June, BlueScope Steel launched a new
television commercial which builds on the campaign
started with the "Our Shed" commercial
in February. It aims to deliver broader awareness
of BlueScope Steel as Australia's leading steel
company. We see the Oceanic Princess taking shape
in the Cairns shipyard of NQEA Australia, as XLERPLATE®

4. Eco Smart House on Show |
It
is now even easier for new Australian homes to
be sustainable and affordable in design thanks
to the new Eco Smart Sustainable House Project
launched in Melbourne in April this year. The

5. LYSAGHT® Research Scholarship 2005 |
The
LYSAGHT® Research Scholarship is open to final
year students and recent graduates of an RAIA/AACA
accredited Australian architecture course. The
LYSAGHT® scholar will receive A$45,000 to
conduct research that will contribute to the advancement
of architecture and its practise in Australia.
