Framing That Lasts A Lifetime |
A third generation South Australian builder is
using the benefits of steel framing to further
the family funeral home business. The design uses
single span steel framing to achieve a large open
plan building, specifying framing made from ZINCALUME®
steel because it offered a truer, straighter finish
and minimised any white ant concerns. To read

5. Rainwater
Tanks Ease Pressure On State Water Supplies |
A
range of new initiatives have been announced by
the Premier of NSW, Bob Carr, to ease pressure
on the states water supplies by encouraging home
owners to install rainwater tanks at their homes.
The initiatives include doubling the maximum of
a rainwater tank allowed without a development
consent to 10,000-litres capacity. If you are
interested in buying a watertank for the storage
of safe drinking water, watertanks made from AQUAPLATE®

8. Did You Know... |
Five
completely trivial but fun facts to boggle your
mind. The theme for this edition of 'S.O.S' is
plants. Did you know:
- An
average mature oak tree sheds approximately
700,000 leaves in the autumn.
- The
bark of the redwood tree is fireproof. Fires
in redwood forests take place inside the trees.
- In
one year, the average tree gives off enough
oxygen to allow four people to breathe for a
year.
- The
Coco de mer, or double coconut palm of the Seychelles,
bears the largest seed in the plant kingdom,
weighing up to 27 kilograms
- The
deadliest plant in the world is the castor bean
plant. It is estimated that the protein, ricin,
found in the castor bean plant is 6,000 times
more poisonous than cyanide.
