2. LYSAGHT BONDEK® Helps The Village Beat Xmas Rush |
A Christmas deadline is firmly in the minds of contractors working on The Village, a A$160 million mixed residential and retail development at Balgowlah on Sydney's Northern Beaches.
It is an Abigroup design & construct project for Stockland Group with approximately 60 shops, a supermarket and 247 apartments with swimming pool and landscaped podium above carparking for 1,500 vehicles. [Read more]

3. RPG Australia Secures Capital Wind Farm Contract |
RPG Australia will use over 6,500 tonnes of Grade 350 XLERPLATE® steel in the construction of wind towers at Lake George, NSW, which when finished will stand approximately 80 metres high with a base diameter of 4.3 metres.
The Capital Wind Farm is an expansive undertaking, with an overall capital value in excess of A$300 million. [Read more]

4. Desalination Plant. Something To Drink To |
Major Metals Queensland has constructed two gigantic steel caissons from Grade 350 XLERPLATE® steel for the Tugun desalination plant. The new plant will produce 125 megalitres of drinking water per day by January 2009. [Read more]

Some interesting space facts:
- In November 1957, Laika a Soviet space dog became the first living being to orbit the Earth. Unfortunately, Laika died a few hours after launch from stress and overheating.
- If you put Saturn in water it would float. The density of Saturn is so low that if you were to put it in a giant glass of water it would float. The actual density of Saturn is 0.687 g/cm3 while the density of water is 0.998 g/cm3.
- If two pieces of metal touch in space, they become permanently stuck together. Two pieces of metal without any coating on them will form in to one piece in the vacuum of space. This process is called cold welding.
